Silver halide

Silver halide is a common name for ionic compounds of silver with one of the halide elements, fluorine, chlorine, iodine, bromine or astatine. Most common halides that a refiner will encounter is silver chloride (AgCl) as a by-product of karat gold refining or silver chloride and silver bromide used in photographic film and paper.
