Graphite is one of the many forms of carbon. It is a semimetal, and it is the most stable form of carbon under standard conditions.

It can be used as a mold for pouring gold or silver into. Whether it be an open face mold or book mold. Another usage of graphite is in graphite crucibles.

Graphite can also be used as an inert electrode in some types of electrolytic cells.
