Beryllium is the fourth element in the periodic system. It is a steel gray and very light metal. It is rarely used in it self but commonly used as an alloying element with copper to create a stiff beryllium copper alloy used in contact elements, for example in CPU sockets.
Beryllium is very toxic in its metallic and oxide forms.
